Abstract: The Oden Arctic Technology Research Cruise 2013 (OATRC2013) is a scientific expedition performed in August 2013 to the waters northeast of Greenland. During OATRC2013, various systematic ice breaking patterns were tested. All patterns proved to be efficient and the maximum floe size of the managed ice field they generated was within the pre-planned target values. Ice conditions and floe sizes before, during and after the operation were documented using the sensing technologies brought on-board for this purpose. This paper presents a brief summary of selected ice management trials, in addition to some analysis of the results.
