Abstract: Set of various data was obtained during annual UNIS research cruises with R/V Lance in the Barents Sea in springs 2007 and 2011. The sea current and the sea water column temperature profile were investigated in the vicinity of a first-year ice ridge in relation to the ice floe drift and the ridge keel properties. The sea current inside the ridge keel, as well as in the vicinity of ice ridge under level ice, was measured and analyzed depending on the local shape of the trajectory of Lance drift. In the expedition of 2011 the changes in temperature profile of ice ridge were observed and compared to the temperature changes of sea water in the vicinity of the ice ridge.
