Abstract: Turbulent structure in open channel flow with skewed strip roughness was investigated experimentally. Two standard angles were considered in the skew arrangement of the strip elements. All the three components of the velocities (u, v and w) were measured. The secondary currents generated were strong when the skew angle was45°than when it was 30°. Resistances to the flow in the channel was high when the skew angle was 30°than when it was 45°. Slight difference between the flow velocities in the main stream at the bed and the free surface was observed when the skew angle was 45°but a huge difference when the skew angle was 30°.
