Abstract: With the increasing urbanization and industrialization, Vietnam is facing accumulative volume of solid waste generation. Recycle of wastes, in particular construction wastes, has gained a lot of attention from all stakeholders. This study aims to investigate the potential of applying porous stones made from waste materials to control the pollutants in domestic wastewater. Initial testing revealed that the COD and TN removal efficiency were averagely 80% and 58%, respectively when using these porous stones as carriers in MBBR system. This finding confirms the potential direction of recycling construction waste in wastewater treatment in Vietnam in near future.
