Abstract: To determine simple, easy-to-use river fish habitat evaluation method, Eco-Environmental Diversity index (EED) and Width-Depth Ratio (WDR) are compared with the number of fish species (NFS) in the target river areas. The results show that no lower NFSs are found in higher WDR whereas not clear relationship between WDR and NFS in lower WDR. On the other hand, EED always shows positive relationship with NFS. To reduce the cost of evaluation, estimate WDR first, then calculate EED in case of low WDR.
