Abstract: Inle lake is strongly affected by shrinkage of open water area, water quality deterioration, environmental pollution and sedimentation problems. The main business of in this area is agriculture with floating gardens, tomatoes being a major crop. To identify the recent problems, water footprint concept and CROPWAT model were applied. We also measure some water quality parameter and take climate issues, modelling of average metrological data for the last 8 years and Inle lake tomato crop agriculture plantation progress. Our results show that expansion of floating garden leads to significant decline in water quality. These could originate from unbalance usage of fertilizer and pesticides which leads to eutrophication. Blue water evapotranspiration and Green water evapotranspiration has been estimated. Human impact of the evaporative flow and run-off flow is strongly influence on deterioration of lake environment.
