Abstract: Hydropeaking has negative effects on fluvial ecosystems that have been widely reported. This article focuses on a particular aspect, still little known: the effects of sudden changes in the water temperature associated with the variations of flow ("thermopeaking"), on populations of benthic macroinvertebrates. In the present case, despite that the variation of water temperature is evident, preliminary results indicate that there are no remarkable changes strictly associated with thermopeaking.
