Abstract: The aim of this project is developing a system to identify and quantify flood risks caused by overflows of the urban drainage network in order to obtain a tool for decision-making in prioritizing technical improvement measures and for planning new infrastructure. Currently, 136 municipalities of Madrid region have been individually characterized. This assessment is carried out through the results of overflow hydraulic models in the urban drainage network, which are the input for a 2D hydraulic model to simulate the geographical distribution of floods for 10-year return period rainfall.
