Abstract: To investigate an influence of one-line vegetation on stage-discharge curve in compound channel, the experiment is conducted in a compound channel with one line square rods along the edge of the floodplain to measure velocity and boundary shear stress. With these data, characteristics of flow and boundary shear stress are shown. An investigation of rod influence is carried out using Shiono & Knight Method (SKM). SKM is modified in order to incorporate drag force due to one line rods, which leads to a new analytical solution. The new analytical solution requires friction factor, the advection term and drag generated turbulence which will be calculated from the experimental data. With these input parameters, the analytical solution predicts velocity and boundary shear stress and then produces a stage-discharge rating curve and is also used to investigate the effect of rod spacing on discharge.
