Abstract: This study presents an integrated reservoir management system that includes three components: (1) weather generator (WG) model; (2) hydrologic model; and (3) differential evolution optimization model. The new integrated system is used to develop optimal operating rule curves for three reservoirs in the Upper Thames River basin that take into consideration the impact of climate change. Two different weather scenario sets are employed to verify the integrated reservoir management system. The results demonstrate that the integrated system performs very well in determining the optimal climate change reservoir adaptation strategy. In addition, the total flood damage at each control point in the basin can be decreased by the implementation of the optimal reservoir rule curves developed for various climate change scenarios.
