Numerical Simulation of Flow Structure in a Vertical Slot Fishway

Abstract: This paper presents results of a numerical study of flow structure in a vertical slot fishway. Effects of different length-to-width ratios of the pool are investigated. The results indicate that the length-to-width ratio has significant impacts on the flow structure in the vertical slot fishway. For favorable flow patterns, it is recommended that the length-to-width ratio be 10:8.
