Abstract: Real-time automatic discharge measurement system using H-ADCP was installed in Hangang bridge to overcome problem which H-Q rating curve techniques cannot be used in tidal river. The system was operated at an interval of 10 minute, and34,130 measurements were obtained during March to December in 2007. Wavelet Transform was applied to exact extract rainfall and tidal components from auto-measured discharge data in Hangang bridge. Wavelet Transform is mathematical method to extract various frequency components from a data series and has soft resolution for time and frequency range. In this study, ‘db10' function was selected one of various wavelet functions, which represent duration is more than 24hours and has high correlation of raw series with approximated component of final analysis step. From the results of Wavelet Transform, approximation component (A6) of last level for wavelet decomposition displayed the biggest energy value 88.29%, and detail component (D6) energy value was 2.64% with periodicity of semidiurnal tide type (about 12 hours). Also, correlation coefficient of Paldang Dam outlet discharge with outflow in Hanggang bridge from was 0.980.
