Abstract: The existing ADCP can not be measured at the low depth, it is impossible for the mechanical current meter to measure at the low velocity. Therefore the measurements in this station are often faced difficulties. But the Stream Pro ADCP was made by RDInstruments can be measured in the station of the low depth and low velocity. To get a more accurate measurement results, the ADCP should be go to a half speed of velocity and if relative error of 4 measurements is 5% or less, the result of measurement is an average of 4 data sets. However, the station having the velocity of0.1m/s must to be moved at a speed of 0.05m/s. In this case, measuring time is too long. Therefore, this paper conducts evaluation of the application of measurement using the StreamPro ADCP and the analysis of practical number of transects to be able to get the appropriate reliability. Evaluation of the application using the StreamPro ADCP is made by comparing streamflow measurements made with the StreamPro ADCP to concurrent mechanical current meter measurements. The analysis of practical number of transects is performed in the method to apply relative error of streamflow measurements to uncertainty of Student-t distribution. The result of comparing streamflow measurements made with the StreamPro ADCP to concurrent Price current meter measurements found that average relative error was about 3.5%. Also, when the standard of relative error is 5%, practical number of transects was 11 times at the station of low depth and low velocity.
