Abstract: Design flood events are strongly influenced by seasonality in south-west Western Australia. Many flood studies have been undertaken in the Darling Range region where most of Perth's drinking water and irrigation catchments are situated. Assessment of losses for this region is based on the Water Corporation's Soil Water Model, SWMOD. Runoff results from most up-to-date design flood runs have been collated to produce regional seasonal estimates for use in ungauged small catchments. The impact of clearing or impervious areas has also been incorporated.
