Abstract: Investigations to the dynamics of sedimentological processes are characterized by a large variety of requests. In particular for an effective dredging management, for maintenance and development of ports, water ways, coastal and flood protection systems information about the dynamics of the sedimentological processes is of great importance. Information on the origin, the whereabouts and the amount of the transported sediment volume as well as on the rate of these processes are needed. The request of the temporal resolving power of the assigned methods become ever higher thereby. Using an innovative echo sounding technology, the LOG_aDSLP®-method, a desired depth accuracy better than 3 centimetres can be reached at the investigation site. This new and complete distinct echo sounder technique leads, combined with special adapted measuring strategies, to high – quality remote-sensing results for the dynamics of sedimentological processes. With a three – level concept for monitoring sediment dynamics by LOG_aDSLP®-method the request for particularly expressive results at different time scales can be met. This concept will be presented.
