Abstract: In the paper the major problems arisen by the unification process of the university systems within the European Union are investigated. The analysis considers the consequences of the university system architecture proposed by the Bologna Declaration, which proposes a system akin to Bachelor-Master adopted by all European Union countries, devoting particular attention to the Civil Engineering education.
