Abstract: The Maritime Hydraulics Section of the IAHR initiated in April 1994, an international Working Group on multidirectional (3D) waves. The objective of this Group is to review the various techniques of multidirectional wave generation and analysis, by performing comparative evaluations of the analysis algorithms, using data from numerical and physical simulations. The members of the Working Group are also involved in preparing review papers that summarize some of the wave generation and analysis techniques. This seminar is convened to present a comprehensive report of the Working Group activities, and at the same time, to invite other papers that will stimulate state-of- the-art discussions of multidirectional waves
