Abstract: By means of both new prototype measurements and data from existing literature, the main parameters of air entrainment in bottom outlet tailrace tunnels will be discussed. In particular, the emphasis will be on the interaction of the water-air two-phase-flow and the geometry of long bottom outlet tailrace tunnels.
