Abstract: The potential of using the flood control detention basins in the Las Vegas Valley to harvest flood water for groundwater recharge and supplementing the potable water supply is being investigated. The initial step in this study was to develop a creditable method of estimating the runoff from the watersheds tributary to the basins.
