Abstract: Bridge scour evaluations for highway crossings at inlets and estuaries require hydraulic modeling approaches developed specifically for the hydraulic and geomorphic characteristics of the tidal waterway. This paper reviews modeling approaches and identifies geomorphic factors which affect the selection of the appropriate model.
