Abstract: Methodological development of the knowledge-based Expert System for Border Irrigation Management, ESBIM is discussed in this paper. The hybrid simulation-expert system with the embedded dynamic database provides a composite PC-based decision support system for explicit determination of management operational variables predicting optimal control of irrigation efficiencies. The applicability and generality of the integrated management support system is validated through real border irrigation case studies under widely varying operating conditions and field environments.
