Abstract: This paper presents an optimization method for finding noninferior solutions of a stochastic multi objective multireservoir operation problem. Constraint technique, decomposition iteration, and simulation analysis are conjunctively used to deal, respectively, with multiobjective optimization, multireservoir system, and stochastic inflows. The proposed methodology is applied to the multiobjective multireservoir system in the upper Tone river basin, which consists of three reservoirs in parallel and is operated primarily for hydropower, water supply, and flood control. 49 noninferior solutions of the multiobjective multireservoir system are obtained, from which the decision maker can find the most satisfactory operating policy.
