Abstract: Coupling 1-D model for main water channel and 2-D model for flood plain is a suitable method to simulate flooding process. It is a supplementary way to cope with global management of rivers. A method of coupling is described and part of the first phase of validation is shown. We also mentioned one case of application of the coupled model to a river of France.
