Abstract: Flow structure in a compound meandering channel is investigated here with experimental results by flow visualization and bed shear measurement. Fluid mixing bctween in-bank and over-bank flow and its effect on boundary shear stress are discussed. The results show that the mixing is different in shallow cases of flooding depth and deeper cases. This difference can be explained by depth dependence of the flow structure.
