Abstract: Results of numerical and physical model studies of flood control channels in Los Angeles County are presented with an emphasis on comparing the computed water surface profiles to the average water surface profiles from physical model flumes. These studies result from ongoing design work by the US Army Engineer District, Los Angeles and by the US Army Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg, MS.
