Abstract: Real data from an arid catchment in the southwest region of Saudi Arabia were used to study the influence of a catchment sheet erosion control system, consisting of bench and channel terraces, on the quality of sediment transported along the catchment wadi and deposited behind its dam. The transported and deposited pollutants carried by sediments, while varied in rates and amounts, were substantially reduced after the system construction.
