Abstract: A new type of art. ificial seaweed is presented to control mean flow and sediment transport in wave fields. Its performance is discussed based on results from laboratory experiments. The proposed seaweed can induce strong mean flow and significant sediment transport in the desired direction due to it. s specific deformation under waves. The result. s of laboratory experiment. sindicate the useful applicability of the proposed seaweeed.
