Abstract: An experimental and numerical technology was developed with a view to measuring and calculing the hydrodynamic dispersion of a pollutant effluent discharged into a estuarine-coastal zone. The similitude between the jet plume of a substance tracer (physical model) injected into the receptor coastal water and the real effluent (prototype) discharged at the same site was studied. The numerical simulation (2D) based on a hydrodynamic model and on an advectiondispersion model was aimed at determining, among others things, the pollutant effluent concentrations for the critical hydrodynamic conditions of the aquatic ecosystem.
