Abstract: Dumping of sludge in ocean is an economical method for disposal of sludge produced from treatment works which are in close proximity to moderately deep water sea frontage. The water quality variation in the receiving water due to sludge dumping must be determined for environmental protection and management purposes. The prediction of the near field diffusion of the sludge is a prerequisite for the subsequent determination of the sludge’'s fate and its effect on the water quality in the far field.
