Abstract: Usually deltas are formed at the mouths of many rivers with large sediment load. These deltas actively protrude into the open sea and are formed under the combined influence of the riverine and marine factors. These deltas are called outer or protruding deltas. The formation of the protruding deltas is the reflection of the river mouth evolution. The stage of the protruding delta formation begins after the completion of the stage of inner or filling delta formation. The inner deltas are formed as a result of filling of bays, limans, lagoons or estuaries by river sediments.
