Abstract: Groundwater plays an increasingly important role in water resources in many parts of the world. Traditionally, the challenges faced by groundwater hydrologists have been associated primarily with assessment of groundwater resources, which often have been considered more or less isolated from the remaining part of the hydrological cycle.
