Abstract: In August 27th 1993, Gou Hou Dam which was located in Qing Hai Province, west of China, broke suddenly. About 2.68 × 106 m3 of flood flow rushed to the down stream of dam. Qia Pu Qia Town which is13 Km far away down from the dam suffered serious from this flood. Invited by the department concerned, the authors took the investigation in scene of the incident. This paper will tell something investigated and the results of analysis on the flood flow caused by breaking of the dam.
