Abstract: Ice induced vibration is a serious problem in Bobai sea area. A three-legged platform is designed to Use rubber shear element to isolate ice-induced vibration. The dynamic response of both original aDd vibration isolated platforms is analyzed by self-excited vibration theory. Fatigue analysis is done according to API RP 2A-WSD. It appears that, the expected fatigue life of the vibration isolation platform is improved by comparing with the original one.
