Full Scale Tests and Analysis of Dynamic Interaction Between Ice Sheet and Conical Structures

Abstract: Dynamical interaction between sheet ice and conical structures is investigated based on fullscale tests on the offshore platform (Jz20-2). The ice forces are measured by load panels and. responses of the structure are recorded by accelerometers. The test results show that the dynamical ampllfymg ~s mduced as predominant breaking frequency of ice is near the natural freq~enc~ of the structure. Dyn~IU1cal breaking process of ice sheet acting on conical structures is analyzed and sImplIfied load. functIOn IS bUIlt based on test data and used to calculate dynamical response of the structure The comparIson of response between the measured and calculated results are made.
