Abstract: Yangtze River "golden waterway" has an important strategic position in regional economic development. However, the deterioration of ecological environment and the construction of water conservancy projects, the rare fish resources in the Yangtze River are becoming exhausted and the situation is very grim. The implementation on protecting rare fishes in the Yangtze River are of great urgency. It is necessary to quantify the influence of the waterway regulation project on the environment and ecology, which is the prerequisite for the smooth development of the renovation project. Researching the habit of rare fishes in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River is an effective way to take into account the socio-economic development and ecological environment protection
