Abstract: The aeration concentration distribution in underflow stilling basin is an important index to evaluate the corrosion reduction effect of stilling basin. In order to study the distribution characteristics of aeration concentration field in submerged underflow stilling basin, needle aeration concentrator was used to investigate the aeration concentration distribution in submerged underflow stilling basin at different flow rates. The results show that the aeration concentration at the bottom decreases along the whole path at a low flow rate, and the rate of attenuation is related to the flow rate. Under large flow rate, the bottom aeration concentration changes gently in the first half of the stilling basin, increases first and then decrease rapidly in the second half. At half of the water depth, the aeration concentration decreases at a very fast rate in the first third of the stilling basin under large flow rate, and the subsequent part is consistent with the overall slow attenuation trend under small flow rate. Along the section direction, with the increase of the distance between the aeration concentration and the bottom plate, the aeration concentration goes through a process of first increasing and appearing a peak value, and then tends to be gentle. The greater the flow rate is, the farther away from the bottom plate of the stilling basin. With the increase of flow rate, the aeration concentration at the bottom of the initial area of the stilling basin will first increase and then decrease. The research can provide some scientific support for the safe operation of flood relief hydraulic engineering.
