Abstract: A Micro-hydroturbine generator prototype has been conceptually designed to be manufactured economically and to efficiently produce power in the 10 to 100 kW range. The turbines will be situated in non-powered dams (NPD) that exist all over the world. The turbine will be designed using modern computational tools, such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Computer Aided Design (CAD). The design will be manufactured using Additive-Manufacturing. The prototype was sized due to the capability of the available facility and inverter, and the resulting hydraulic and mechanical analyses yielded positive results to justify the manufacturing and comprehensive testing of the prototype.
