Abstract: Microplastics are ubiquitous, as evidenced by their frequent detection in various environmental matrices, including lakes, rivers, marine, estuarine, and freshwater environments. Numerous studies have highlighted the occurrence, size, type, form, and chemical composition of microplastics. However, most of this research originated from developed countries with dedicated resources. Conversely, there's a noticeable gap in the literature concerning the occurrence of microplastics in the aquatic environments of developing countries, particularly within South Asian regions like Thailand. This study aims to fill that gap by documenting the occurrence and concentration of microplastics in both water and sediment within Thailand's coastal zones.
