Abstract: The prevention and treatment of expansive soil is a global issue, and there is currently no comprehensive technological platform for the online assessment and rehabilitation of expansive soil slopes. In response to this deficiency, this study has constructed a mathematical model and developed real-time data acquisition technology for online assessment, as well as pixel-level, feature-level, and decision-level data fusion technologies. We have proposed a dynamic assessment and early warning algorithm for the health of expansive soil slopes, which enables real-time assessment of “health”, “sub-healthy”, and “hidden danger” status, as well as early warnings for “unhealthy” conditions. Additionally, we have developed reinforcement measures for “external isolation and internal drainage”, and have established a complete technological platform for the full chain of expansive soil slope prevention and control, spanning from information acquisition and fusion to dynamic health assessment and early warning, and further to repair and reinforcement. This platform has significantly elevated the level of expansive soil slope prevention and control. Using the slope at the Songgang Wharf, the head of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project canal, as the experimental carrier, the results indicate that the data collected by the platform is comprehensive and well-fused. 2203 sets of online assessment and early warning data correspond well with actual conditions, demonstrating the feasibility of the algorithm. Moreover, the implemented rehabilitation and reinforcement measures have noticeably reduced soil moisture and seepage pressure, indicating their potential for widespread application.
