Abstract: Suspended sediment transport has been one of the basic issues in the field of river dynamics for centuries because the erosion, transport, and deposition plays a key role in the fluvial process and engineering practices. In this study, the concentration distribution for non-equilibrium suspended sediment was investigated theoretically. A simplified analytical solution based on two-phase flow theory was proposed. Results show that the particle inertia effect plays an important role in suspended sediment transport.
