Abstract: Ship impact force usually causes the safety problem of the high-pile wharf. Study of the dynamic response of the wharf can help engineer to recognize parts of the wharf which bears the maximum stress in specific conditions, and take corresponding protective and maintaining measures to. Based on three-dimensional finite element analysis, this paper established numerical models under 8 cases to study the dynamic response of standard wharf and strengthened wharf when ship impact force varies 50 and 100 thousand tons through ABAQUS software. The results show that the increase of the ship impact force cause increase of the structure’s horizontal displacement; the most dangerous part is the pile at the front of the pier; adding a new oblique pile can reduce the horizontal displacement and redistribute the structure’s stress.
