Abstract: Using experimental curves for the discharge coefficients of venturimeter or orificemeter, the pipe discharge is obtained iteratively. Such a procedure is subjected to error of judgment in reading these graphs. Furthermore, the process cannot be used for analytical purposes. In this investigation explicit equations for the discharge of venturimeter and orificemeter have been obtained in terms of the input variables. This eliminates the iterative procedure.
