Abstract: A simplified procedure for determining the lime evolulion of the armor coat is presented. The method is developed for a parent bed material characterized by a log-normal grain size distribution function. The interaction of the armoring process with flow resistance and sediment transport are also discussed. Experimental data are used for the calibration of the model.
