Abstract: The Ma river estuary in northern part of Vietnam is one of the main floodways of the Ma system and flows directly to the East Sea. The river also plays as one of the most important waterways connecting the Ma system with the sea. In recent years, severe erosion around river mouth directly affected many inhabitants living near the river mouth and many houses have been lost. This paper initially analyzes the hydrodynamic characteristics around the river mouth based on the survey data and numerical simulation.
