Abstract: The numerical calculation method based on SPH for solving 2-D shallow water equation was developed. This method has advantages of meshless modeling consistent with reasonable calculation cost. To improve accuracy and stability of this method, complete symmetrization was proposed, and existing improvement three techniques CSPM, MSPH and SSPH were adopted. To check the practical accuracy and stability, simulations of still-water and solitary wave were carried out. Then following results were obtained. Simple SPH and symmetrized SPH are instable and cannot simulate the still-water. CSPM is more stable than simple/symmetrized SPH. But CSPM often dump the wave shape. MSPH and SSPH are stable and show good accuracy in all cases.
