The Department of Civil Engineering, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (DoCE) has committed to continuous quality improvement and international recognition as the vision statement. The commitment has been successfully proved by accreditation level of “A” by BAN PT since November 2017 for Bachelor of Civil Engineering Program (BCE). The DoCE, established in 1981, has a study duration of 4 years and, now, employs the 2016 Curriculum as the curriculum of the course. The expected learning outcomes (ELOs) of the curriculum, and its relation to the vision and mission of UMY and DoCE, are aligned with the Level 6 criteria of Indonesia National Qualification Framework (Kerangka Kualifikasi Nasional Indonesia, KKNI), ABET, and JABEE/IABEE. The DoCE review and improve once every 3-5 years to keep up with the rapid change in the development of law and stakeholders’ needs. The title given for this department is a Bachelor of Engineering (S.T., Sarjana Teknik) has graduate attributes to be adaptive, professional, innovative, and competent in civil and construction engineering. The DoCE is supported by 34 competent faculty members consist of 12 Ph.D. holder, 12 Ph.D. candidates (expected 3 staff complete their Ph.D. in 2020), and 10 masters (expected 2 staff will pursue Ph.D. in 2020). To support the DoCE’s vision, 12 faculties are the holder of Certified Civil Engineer. The faculty members are divided into five research groups, they are geotechnical engineering (4 staffs), construction material and structural engineering (14 staffs), water resources engineering (6 staffs), transportation engineering and system (6 staffs), and construction management (4 staffs)
