Founded in 1967, K-water is Korea’s premier public organization that specializes in water resources management in the Republic of Korea, preventing water disasters and provides clean water through its innovative water management technologies associated with IWRM and SWM, based on its 50-years-accumulated capacity and know-hows on water management. Additionally, K-water is one of the leading entities around the world in terms of urban planning (Smart Water Cities) and digital transformation (AI & Big Data), equipped with its cutting-edge water technologies. As a global water leader, K-water paved the way forward to combat global water issues. In this regard, it has developed a sound global cooperation network with diverse organizations in the water sector, including governments, public organizations, international organizations, academia, industry and civil societies. Furthermore, K-water serves as the chair of Asia Water Council, the representative global water platform for addressing Asia’s water issues and enhancing water welfare of the region, membership of which consists of 147 organizations from 27 countries. Base on this cooperation assets, K-water is currently carrying out a number of water-related projects and programs, including capacity building, research cooperation, ODAs and investment projects, which are targeted to realize water welfare in the world and to contribute in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
