Dr. Luis Á. Sañudo is an Associate Professor at the Department of Construction and Manufacturing Engineering, University of Oviedo, Spain. Luis is MEng in Civil Engineering and MSc in Research in Civil Enginering, completing his higher education with a PhD in permeable pavements and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS), University of Cantabria, Spain. Luis was awarded the FPI Grant from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation during his PhD, developing a Postdoctoral career in Coventry University, UK, as a Research Fellow in Agroecological and Water Systems at the Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience (CAWR). Luis was member of the British Council Scientific and Engineering Panel. Luis joined the University of Oviedo in 2016 as Director of the MEng in Civil Engineering Programme, developing the Civil, Environmental and Geomatics Research Group with a special focus on climate resilience of SuDS, stormwater control measures and green stormwater infrastructure. Dr. Sañudo was awarded the Fulbright Visiting Scholarship to carry research in climate change adaptation in SuDS. Luis has co-authored 40 scientific articles, 50 conference contributions, 12 book chapters, 2 books and a technical manual for SuDS implementation.
