PhD in 2002 at Karlsruhe University in Civil Engineering . Since 2002 at TU Braunschweig, Leichtweiss-Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Research on Morphodynamics with the aim to improve our knowledge for river restoration projects - mainly in the lab focussing on the effect of roughness on the turbulent flow field and on gravel bed stability - but also in the field focussing on sediment transport and morphological changes
