Polytechnique Montreal
Professor
About
I am currently a Professor in the Department of Civil, Geological & Mining Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, Canada, where I also hold a prestigious Canada Research Chair in Computational Hydrosystems. My primary research interests revolve around the broad fields of computational hydraulics/fluid mechanics and fluvial mechanics. Throughout my career, I have made significant contributions to the development and application of numerical techniques, particularly mesh-free particle methods, to tackle complex multi-physics problems in hydrosystems. In the context of fluvial systems, my research has involved a combination of experimental and theoretical analysis, in conjunction with numerical models, to gain a better understanding of fluvial hydrodynamics, sediment transport, water quality, ice dynamics, and flood risk.
